License file locations

To enable Cresset applications you will require a valid license file – please enquire. This file should be placed in one of the locations listed below.

Windows

Save the license file to one of these locations:

LocationWindows 10 and 11
Home directoryC:Users<username>
Documents directoryC:Users<username>Documents
Cresset licenses directory – global installationC:Program FilesCresset-BMDLicenses
Cresset licenses directory – user installationC:Users<username>AppDataLocalCresset-BMDLicenses
Custom directorySave the license file to any directory. Start the application and click the ‘Change extra directory’ button. Now browse for your chosen directory.
Environment variablecressetbmd_LICENSE can be used to specify the location of Cresset license files.

If you are having problems getting the license to be auto-recognized please contact Cresset support. If you require a license file please register here or contact us.

Linux

Save the license file to one of these locations:

LocationInstalled from RPMInstalled from tar. xz or tgz
Home directory
Documents directory/Documents/Documents
Cresset licenses directory – global installation/opt/cresset/licenses/path/to/installation/directory/cresset/licenses
Custom directorySave the license file to any directory. Start the application and click the ‘Change extra directory’ button. Now browse for your chosen directory.N/A
