When we asked customers about how Cresset should behave, we were pleased to discover a recurring theme: our customers really appreciate our existing approach to partnership. Consistently, we heard that they enjoy working with Cresset, that we listen carefully with an open mind, respond honestly to ideas and requirements, and apply our expertise effectively to help them. We’re very grateful for this feedback. We will strengthen our commitment to this approach moving forward. We’re determined not to take this reputation for granted and to work hard to continuously improve on it. In fact, we’re making it our mission to be the model for how computational chemistry companies should work with the industry – your preferred partner. We think there are three key elements to this approach.
We’re making it our mission to be the model for how computational chemistry companies should work with the industry – your preferred partner.
First, we heard from customers that they want computational solutions in which they can have confidence. In this context, they were positive about the scientific pedigree and experience at Cresset. Beginning with pioneering developments in electrostatics and continuing over twenty years with innovations in areas such as ligand-based design and more recently FEP, they saw Cresset as an innovator in physics-based simulation and a provider of validated, and valuable technologies. They were anxious that we do nothing to dilute this drive. We are happy to make that commitment. Investing in new science will always be part of our company DNA.
But the expertise we’ve built up over those twenty years reinforces that R&D is a collaborative business. Learning from others will continue to be central to our approach, through continuous user feedback from our community, industry collaborations, consultancy work on customer projects, and academic partnerships.

Your trusted partner
Customers told us that the software vendors they work with seem to have contrasting approaches, from those that demonstrate a trusted partner model at one end of the spectrum, to those at the other end that seem to approach things as a revenue maximization exercise. We’re clear that the trusted partner model is most important to us.
Finally, none of this will matter unless we continue to deliver best-in-class software solutions in our chosen focus area – the stages of the molecular discovery process, beginning with target validation and ending with candidate selection. This will require us to be nimble, integrating new AI capabilities with simulation in a way that solves key problems and enhances user experiences, while ensuring that our software remains easy to implement and use within real corporate IT environments.
We’ve captured this philosophy in an updated mission statement for our company. But words are easy. We’ll only be true to our mission if we listen to feedback from you, our customers, and adapt. So do stay in touch – and keep us honest!
