After a DPhil in Chemistry at the University of Oxford, Tim gained experience as a medicinal chemist and a molecular modeler at Peptide Therapeutics and Medivir. He joined Cresset in 2002 as Chief Applications Scientist and has been instrumental in developing the easy-to-use scientific software that characterizes a Cresset product today. In 2021, Tim was pivotal in the founding of Torx® Software, a Cresset joint venture with Elixir™ software. In 2024, Tim became CEO of Cresset, taking responsibility for overseeing the company’s business strategy, activities, and operations.
Mark was one of the founders of Cresset when the company was formed in 2002. He became CSO in 2013 and heads up our scientific team. He has made fundamental contributions to our underlying scientific approach and to the development of the software. He works hard to extend the scientific base of the company in a way that is consistent with our reputation of rigorous scientific excellence. His team’s current research includes new ways of applying the XED force fields to proteins and improving the handling of water molecules. Mark’s previous experience includes roles at Napp Pharmaceuticals and Merck, Sharpe and Dohme. His PhD is in Chemistry from the University of Cambridge and he is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
David has extensive experience leading life sciences businesses, public and private fundraising for technology companies, and returning significant value to shareholders. He has been on the Cresset board as Non-Executive Director since January 2021, and has also held senior roles including CEO positions at SPT Labtech and TAP Biosystems (now part of Sartorius).
After graduating from Newcastle University, Rebecca led the administration and customer relations team at a software company in London. She joined Cresset in 2012, was appointed as Company Secretary in 2017 and COO in 2021. Rebecca has responsibility for administrative, IT and HR functions of the business.
For over 25 years, Dale has built an impressive track record of leadership and success in high technology/scientific enterprise software sales, business development and service delivery. He has proven talent for driving innovative operational and marketing strategies, building successful teams, and rapidly developing new markets for start-up companies as well as multimillion-dollar global technology enterprises. Dale currently serves as CEO of Astrix Technology LLC. Prior to Astrix, Dale was Chief Commercial Officer at Xybion, and has extensive experience in the life sciences sector, developing strategic accounts and leading commercial growth, having held other senior roles at Process Systems Enterprise, Inc., Accelrys and Symyx (now Biovia-Dassault Systemes).
Angus is a partner at technology growth equity firm Scottish Equity Partners (SEP), primarily focused on software scale-ups. He has a particular interest in the life sciences technology market where innovation can drive improvements in the drug development process. Angus has led and managed investments across the software sector, and he sits on the boards of several fast growing, international companies. He works closely with investee businesses to sustainably build growth and value.
Rob joined Cresset as CEO in 2010 and was appointed as President in 2024. Rob is an expert in the fields of molecular modeling and cheminformatics. His roles before joining Cresset include CEO of Amedis and VP, Europe at CambridgeSoft. His DPhil is in Chemistry from the University of Oxford. Rob is passionate about applying computational methods to help meet medical challenges. He believes drug discovery and design can be streamlined and improved through the use of computational methods, resulting in better drugs being brought to market sooner. Rob is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
